About RoadBikeRides

RoadBikeRides.com was founded by Tyler Ford, an avid cyclist and triathlete who has had a passion for cycling since 1988. Tyler was a top-producing loan officer in Tucson, Arizona's mortgage industry. Every day for eight years he would sit behind his desk in his coat and tie, watching cyclists zoom past his office window. And every day he wondered how he could spend less time working and more time riding his bike. He had a vision of getting involved in the cycling industry in a bigger way.

Then, in 2007, business started to slow as the hot Tucson housing market ground to a smoldering halt, and Tyler saw his chance. He founded Outdoor Activities, LLC and decided to start up RoadBikeRides.com and it's blog, Ride-Strong.com.

He is a man on a mission and his mission is clear:

To establish RoadBikeRides.com as the premier source of road bike rides across the United States, while maintaining uncompromising principles as it grows.

Central to this mission are the core values of RoadBikeRides.com:

  • Serve the cycling community by providing FREE road bike ride content.
  • Educate cyclists about various road bike rides that exist in their hometowns and across the country.
  • Contribute to our communities and our environment in a positive way by making it easier for people to get out on their bikes.
  • Save cyclists time so they can spend more time on the bike and less time searching for rides or getting lost when they travel.
  • Increase safety for cyclists by noting potential hazards ahead of time.
  • Provide content that is easy to print and easy to read.
  • Create a user-friendly experience by providing detailed information about each and every ride that is posted on our web site in a variety of ways.
