Ride Description

This is a popular ride on the west side of Tucson. You pass Old Tucson and the Desert Museum along the ride. There are some great views at the top of gates pass. Stop and take a look to the east and to the west. This ride has a little of everything: flats, rollers and a short killer climb up the back side of Gates Pass. Potential Hazards: turn turns down the backside of Gates Pass and narrow shoulder on the road throughout portions of the ride.

Start Location and Parking

Start at Park and University which is the west side of the University of Arizona campus.

Ride Directions

From Park and University head west. Turn left on Main and then make a right on St. Marys Rd. St. Marys Rd turns in to Anklam. From Anklam take a left on Speedway. Stay left and Speedway turns into Gates Pass Rd. Go up Gates Pass and then down the back side of Gates Pass. Turn right on Kenny Rd and then make a left on McCain Loop. From McCain Loop turn right on Kinney back to Gate Pass Rd. and turn left. Climb up the back side of Gates Pass and return home on the same route.

At University and Park at the start/finish of the ride you have tons to chose from. There is a Starbucks for the coffee drinkers plus tons of restaurants options.
