Climb (3000') up American Fork Canyon, over the Alpine Loop then down Provo Canyon and return via city streets.
You can start several places along the loop, but many people start at the mouth of American Fork Canyon. There is a paved parking lot just before the mouth of the canyon on the north side of highway 92 or a gravel lot just inside the canyon but before the fee booth (bikes are free).
I love the Alpine Loop

The fall is my favorite time of year in Utah when the leaves change colors. I spent a great deal of time on the Alpine Loop and on the many trails taking pictures. I added some of my pictures to the route. These were taken in October of 2004. It was one of my last adventures before relocating to Texas.
