Ride Description

The ride starts out of Borrego Springs headed west on Palm canyon Dr. this will lead you up a long climb up towards Ranchita with breath taking views of the desert and Borrego. Near the top it gets somewhat level before another slight rise to the flat that Ranchita is located at. Once over this get prepard for a beuatiful sprint portion depending on the way the wind may blow. Once through Ranchita turning left onto the S22 there is a slight rise but very easy since your muscles feel super after the initial climb from Borrego. Over this another treat for our speedsters but weary of the road conditions it can be a little rough. Just try not to go too fast :-) When you come to the Hwy78 and turn left headed east you have I'd say the funnest part of the ride the road winds through a narrow canyon with high brush along the side of the road and encompassing you like the sledder within steep rocky cliffs for about a mile. After all this now back into Anza Borrego State Park you can pick up enormous speed once more with down and ups pefectly placed by nature, but be cafeful not to miss your turn at HwyS3 and be sure to rehydrate(while watching for spiders on riods crossing the road) because you're going to climb once more up Yaqui Pass. After all the climbing from the beginning Yaqui Pass seems to be very easy. While going up be sure to savor another breath-taking view. Over the pass is another long sprint towards home Borrego Springs.
