This is one of the most popular rides on the southeast side of Tucson, AZ. There is a good bike lane most of the way. When turning right on Pistol Hill Road from Old Spanish Trial there is a one mile climb to get your heart pumping. Once you get to the top of Pistol Hill look to the west for a good view of Tucson. You can do several ride variations from this ride to add distance. To add distance check out the Colossal Cave/Vail Loop or Marsh Station Ride.
Start at Udall Park at Tanque Verde and Sabino Canyon Road.
Head east on Tanque Verde Road. Turn right on Tanque Verde Loop Road and then turn left on Speedway to Freeman Road. Turn right on Freeman heading south. Heading up Freeman Road and turn left on Old Spanish Trail. Follow Old Spanish Trail for about 10 miles and turn right on Pistol Hill Road. Turn right on Camino Loma Alta heading north. Turn left on Old Spanish Trail heading northwest and return he way you came from.
There are many places to eat on Sabino Canyon and Tanque Verde Road. There is a Jamba Juice in the Safeway shopping center across the street from Udall Park.
If open there is a little family owned general store on Old Spanish Trail. There is also water and bathrooms at Saguaro National Park.

Throw in some loops around Saguaro East if you're so inclined...
