Ride Description

This is a multiple climb and country/city ride that took me from Kamas, Utah to Provo, Utah.  It was around 7000' of climbing with just over 8000' of descending.  There is a 1.0 mile dirt section that was passable, but only by those either determined or dumb enough like myself.

Plenty of water locations to refuel at along the way.

Start Location and Parking

This is a one way ride that I did to meet up with my family at the water park in Provo

Ride Directions

Start in Kamas and head to Park City on Hwy 248.  Go into Park City and then turn left on Park Avenue heading up to Deer Valley.  Just before the base of Deer Valley turn right on Royal Street and climb to the Guardsman Road turnoff. Go up and over the top of Guardsman Pass and head west to the top of Big Cottonwood Canyon.

This next section is dirt but doable.  I did hike for about 40 yards on a steep section and cars were respectful.  A big down hill awaits dropping to Salt Lake.  At the mouth of the canyon turn left on Wasatch Blvd and follow it to Draper.  Turn left in Draper on 1300 east and go to Highland Drive.

I chose to turn left at the sign for Suncrest and South Mountain Golf course which took me to the top of Suncrest.  This climb has ZERO shade and was tough with the wind.  A downhill takes you to Highland where you turn left and go towads the mountains.

At the mouth of American Fork Canyon turn right which takes you past Cedar Hills and into Pleasant Grove.  At State Street take a left towards Orem, then Provo.  Anywhere in Orem you can turn left and drop down to University Parkway and then finish at any given destination in Provo.

My route took me to Seven Peaks via Canyon Road and then 900 east

Food, Coffee and Juice Joints close to Start/Finish

There are food spots all along the route.  Porquepine Grill at the mouth of Big Cottonwood and Wasatch Blvd would be a great mid way drink/eat spot.
