Ride Description

Awesome senic loop over Lookout Mountain, the Dakota Ridge fossil beds, Red Rocks Park/Ampitheater and Bear Creek Lake Park

Start Location and Parking

The map starts and ends at my house but you can park at the Safeway on Jewell and Kipling, 2/10ths of a mile west of the start/finish on the map.

Ride Directions

Head West on Jewell to the foot of the hogback. From here, turn north along Rooney Road and follow until it feeds onto the bike path under I70 and into Golden. Turn left on 19th street and ride the 4.1 miles to the summit of lookout mountain. Turn around here or continue up to the nature center half a mile further and return the way you came. When you get to the hogback, keep going straight and ride over. Cross the highway on the otherside to enter redrocks park and follow the road straight through the park to highway 8 and morrison. Take a left through Morrison and then either follow Morrison road back to Kipling or take the detour through Bear Creek Lake Park. Left turn on Kipling up the hill will take you back to the start.
