Ride Description

This is an out and back ride that is a favorite with many pro cyclists during the winter months. This is a hard ride with a killer climb up to the top of Madera Canyon. Potential Hazards: Watch out for the high speed traffic on Old Nogales Hwy.

Start Location and Parking

Start at Park and University.

Ride Directions

From University and Euclid head south on Euclid. Euclid turns into Park. From Park turn right on Valencia then take you next left on Old Nogales Hwy. You are going to stay on Old Nogales Hwy for a good stretch. You will pass Sahuarita Road. A couple miles past Sahuarita Road you want to turn left staying on Old Nogales Hwy. If you stay on the main road it turns into Duval Mine Rd which is the wrong way. After you turned left staying on Old Nogales Hwy you will stay on Old Nogales Hwy and then turn left on Whitehouse Canyon Rd. Then turn right on Madera Canyon Road. Enjoy the climb to the dead end road at the top of the box canyon.
