My favorite training ride. You can add or subtract the loops above town (will make more sense when you're out riding) to put together a really nice ride, no matter what you're into. The best parts are the neighborhoods in the Catalina foothills - quiet, no traffic, not even that many bikes. Just be careful - people don't expect to see you when they come out of their driveways!
Park in front of Arizona Cyclist, and buy stuff from them... great store. Trader Joes is a good place to start, too.

If you do this Sunday morning, you can stop off at the Farmer's Market afterwards...
Not many - there are some gas stations along Oracle... the foothills don't offer many break stops.

This is a great in Tucson on the north and northwest part of town.
Looks like the old doc is shopping for a home course

At least you get to tour Tucsons better golf courses, which should help offset the pain of waiting at every traffic signal in the Catalina foothills
Skipping traffic signals

I agree that the traffic lights, particularly those on River and Swan and Craycroft, get a little miserable. Take the bike path along the Rillito all the way to Craycroft if so inclined, then continue East on River to Tanuri... There are other sneaky ways around lights too, but hae fun finding them!
