Ride Description

A nice bike ride through the Santa Barbara foothills which visits downtown Isla Vista, the overwhelmingly youthful UCSB student haven, downtown goleta, and downtown Santa Barbara itself.

Start Location and Parking

Start in Isla vista. Any available street parking will work.

Ride Directions

Head north on Camino del sur toward Picasso Rd
Turn left at El Colegio Rd
Continue on Storke Rd
Continue on Glen Annie Rd/Tecolutito Creek
Head north on Glen Annie Rd/Tecolutito Creek toward Cathedral Oaks Rd
Turn right at Cathedral Oaks Rd
Head east on Cathedral Oaks Rd toward N Fairview Ave
Turn right at N Patterson Ave
Head east on Hollister Ave toward S Patterson Ave
Turn left at S Turnpike Rd
Head north on S Turnpike Rd toward San Simeon Dr
Turn right at Cathedral Oaks Rd
Head northeast on Cathedral Oaks Rd toward El Rodeo Rd
Continue on CA-192/Foothill Rd

Continue to follow CA-192


Turn left at CA-192/Stanwood Dr
Turn left at CA-192/Sycamore Canyon Rd
Head west on CA-192/Sycamore Canyon Rd toward CA-144/Sycamore Canyon Rd
Turn left at CA-144/Sycamore Canyon Rd
Head south on CA-144/Sycamore Canyon Rd toward Via Encanto
At Sycamore Canyon Rd, take the 1st exit onto Alameda Padre Serra
Turn left at E Cota St
Turn right at N Milpas St
Head west on N Milpas St toward E Anapamu St
N Milpas St turns slightly left and becomes E Anapamu St
Turn right at State St
Make a U-turn at Mission St
Head southeast on State St toward W Pedregosa St

Food, Coffee and Juice Joints close to Start/Finish

At the start, blenders in the grass and silvergreens are good, and fairly healthy.

At the finish, there are tons of restaraunts all along state street  

Food, Water, & Bathrooms along route

As you are going through the downtown centers of these three towns, simply keep your eyes open for restaraunts and stores along the route.
